Just over the Alberta/British Columbia just off Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park are the Paint Pots. The Paint Pots are formed by the accumulation of iron oxide of mineral springs in the area. In some spots the waters gets to be very red/rusty-coloured. I was last here a couple of years ago in the winter with a few inches of snow on the ground. It is a short walk from the parking lot over a bridge to the Paint Pots. It is a a neat spot. I am not sure if it looks better in winter or summer. The red water stands out more with a layer of snow on the ground.
Great pictures. Looks like a place that is fun to visit.
