Neelby, Saskatchewan November 12, 2017. I have seen a fair number of grain elevators. A number of them are picturesque. These ones look sad. One of them has a definite lean. Neelby is just barely west of Kipling.
I can't help but wonder - Is grain simply being handled differently these days, or are we letting our own farmers go bankrupt while becoming dependent on less-than-dependable foreign sources?
It is being handled more efficiently. More modern concrete and steel high capacity terminals have replaced the wooden elevators. Transportation got better, some rail lines got abandoned along with some of the elevators.

DeleteThanks for the reply. We don't have such things in my state to begin with.
DeleteSome mornings I feel just like that old grain elevator, lol!
