You see grazing co-op's in rural areas of the province. A number of them cover a lot of land. A quick internet search explains it better than I can. Provincial grazing reserves and grazing
associations/co-operatives are considered community pastures. A grazing association/co-operative registered under the
Societies Act or the Co-operative Associations Act can hold a
grazing lease. In Alberta, there are approximately eighty-five grazing
associations and grazing co-operatives holding grazing
dispositions under the Public Lands Act on 982,000 acres.
I have never before heard of a grazing co-op. What an interesting concept. I like the sign, too.
