  1. I used to live in the Eastern part of South Dakota and scenes like this invoke a lot of memories. Alberta sure looks a lot like South Dakota.

  2. There seems to be something about hay bales that pleases people. The Lazy Farmer used to get requests all the time, too.

    1. I wonder how far back one needs to go to find an ancestor who lived by farming of some sort?

Neither of my grandparents were as adults, one set of great grandparents were farmers in California, I don't know what they did in Maine before they left but I'll bet it was farming.
I'll bet the other set of great grands were farmers back in Ohio before the civil war.

    2. To be honest, no one requested it except me.

    3. My family on my fathers side (his Grandmother and Grandfather) came over from Germany just after the Civil War. Both side were farmers. My Dad and his brothers grew up on the farm and he was there until he went to college and joined the Marine Corps. I am the first generation to not grow up on a farm....lived close to them in Southwest Kansas, but neve lived on one. I worked on farms and ranches as a young man. My children are the fifth generation to live in the US and the first generation not to grow up near a farm.
