Snow and other issues

Snow arrived. It will soon disappear. Winter fights with fall until winter wins enough to take hold. October proved to be an expensive month due to a lot of bills popping up. Furnace and hot water tank got serviced before winter hits with full force. Winter tires. Vehicle registration. Just a lot of miscellaneous bills that happened to hit in October. Lots of stuff affected getting out.

My disability insurer has now got me on my third case manager this year. I guess there must be some kind of turnover. The problem is that this one wants me to make an appointment with the surgeon who operated on me for a follow up. I just had a follow up three months ago, I did not magically get better in that time. To keep my disability insurer happy I have an upcoming appointment for a full set of x-rays and meeting with the doctor. I feel this just wastes everyone’s time.

Nothing much happening until something happens.

Fall post

One last ride on the motorcycle and it got stored. Winter tires go on tomorrow. Seasons change and I am looking forward to next spring.

Stone house revisit

This is east of Edmonton. It was lived in for years at one time. Visited it earlier this month.

Moose!

Two days ago I got a fuzzy photo of a moose. A friend of mine spotted one in the trees. I tried to zoom in, unfortunately you lose some definition so it is not the greatest photo. Not able to get a photo of her calf that was hidden in some trees about thirty feet away. Always love to see moose.

Random prairie scene

The Ukrainian Church in Cooks Creek Manitoba

More formally known as the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, the Cooks Creek Ukrainian church is by far the largest structure in tiny Cooks Creek, Manitoba. The "prairie cathedral" was started in 1930 and was completed in 1952. It was designed by the Very Reverend Philip Ruh. Like most Ukrainian churches, it has a separate bell tower.
The adjacent grotto is modeled after the Lady of Lourdes Grotto in France and was started in 1954. The grotto was completed in 1970.
The church is in active, weekly use. The annual Cooks Creek Medieval Festival is held here as well.

I was lucky enough to spot this on a farm yesterday.
