I finally got my antelope

You have to be in southern Alberta to see these. I have tried to get pictures before and failed. They are very skittish. I managed to see quite a few of these and with luck managed to get photos of a couple of them. These were taken in the area of Highway 501 due south of Etzikom, Alberta on May 14, 2016.

  1. Great pictures!! Congratulations! Looks like they were looking directly at you too, so tell us, how did you get them to pose?

  2. Wait, what, ya mean to tell me those aren't prairie dogs 'posing' as antelope??
Good shots, how close did you actually get?

    1. I would guess the closest was about one hundred feet. A zoom lens helps. One just walked by the truck and did not seem to care. I have seen them lots of times and never got close to getting a photo. On that day I got a few dozen.

  4. Used to see lots of antelope while driving the back country when stationed at Ft Huachuca, AZ. Coatimundi (I think it was them) and tarantulas as well.

    1. I used to go to Scottsdale about three to four times a year. I saw lizards, rabbits, and a roadrunner. Getting decent photos of antelope was just luck for me.
