North of Highway 626 on Highway 855 but south of Highway 16 on the way to Mundare. I spotted this just off the highway. Someone lived here years ago.
I decided against the stairs. The stairs may have been fine, the upper floor did not look fine. I did not walk around inside either. It was nice to see that no one has trashed the place. Living here must have been cramped, it is a small house.
Don't you wonder sometimes about who those people were who once lived there. And why did they go off and leave their home.
ReplyDeleteAll the time.
DeleteGood question, Vicki. Maye they intended to come back - the windows are boarded up. You don't take the time to do that if you abandon a place.
ReplyDeleteThey may have boarded up the windows for future plans that were never carried out.
DeleteGreat photos BW! I want to run my hand down the stair rail....and Chickenmom, I think you are right, I watch videos on abandoned homes and buildings..dishes left on tables, clothes hanging...they don't take the time to board up windows.
ReplyDeleteBut Vicki, I always wonder...where the family went, what happened for this to be the outcome. But then, I have an active imagination. : )
BW, I am sure your decision to not enter was the right one...but the interior shots are great...I really do love that staircase...and we would have missed that without your photo...so thank you.
ReplyDeleteThere are other reasons. Places like this can become homes to birds, bats, and rodents. I like to explore, I do not want to pick up any disease.
DeleteGood thinking.
