St. Paraskevia 1913

Sometimes something tells you to turn down a road. I was in the County of Smoky Lake, Alberta on a weekend and just visited a spot on my list. I was going to drive by and I got urge to turn down a country road and a few miles later saw this.

This is a lovely tiny church. You can see the bell tower which is a separate building in the corner of the property. I have no idea if it is still in use. I do know that I will have to make a return visit. It was a bit of a miserable day when I was there. I would love to see the inside.

  2. That's a sweetheart of a church! I did some research of that area and I think it was called "Cossack" at one time. The church is still in use and there are some recent burials in the cemetery as well.

  5. Sometimes following your nose leads you to some pretty great views. Hmmm....is 'following your nose' an expression that's only common in this area?
