Musidora, Alberta

Guest post from Dale and Lynn Redekopp.

"Musidora is a hamlet located on Highway 45 northeast of Edmonton. It had a population of over 100 in its heyday when the CPR ran through it in 1927 and boasted a number of commercial establishments. The settlers in the town and area were mostly Ukrainian. They built a community hall and church in Musidora that are still used occasionally to host various events. The day we visited a group of seniors were setting up the hall to celebrate the arrival of a grandchild. We were also fortunate that a caretaker was at the church and allowed us a quick peek inside. The latest population number I could find for Musidora was from 1991 which put the number of inhabitants at thirteen."
