Westhazel School 1912 - 1958

This is a little southeast of Turtleford, Saskatchewan. I drove a ridiculous distance from the Edmonton area to see this before winter on September 4, 2018. It is not that winter is just around the corner, it was the fact that I might not have the opportunity to see it this year.

I did not see any easy way to get a look at the inside so I did not bother. The school has definitely seen better days.

  1. Buildings must have been built so much better then than now in order to still be standing after all those years of disuse. Doubt I would have fought that jungle to see inside, either. :)

  4. There are two ways in, unless you want to climb through a basement window, you can either climb up to the front door or go around the right to the side door. This school is actually owned by my uncle, Miles Johnson. There isnt a whole lot to see on the inside, although this school has a basement and an upstairs. I do advise against spending too much time in here, especially the basement, as it can give you an incredibly heavy feeling and we saw red spirit orbs in some footage we took there. This building is structurally sound though and if you do go in, you don't have to worry about falling through the floor. I live in turtleford and have explored about every old building in the area.
