Stone House remains

Preotul Dionisie Nichifor immigrated to Canada in 1911 and became the first priest at the new Saints Peter and Paul Romanian Orthodox Church near Flintoft, Saskatchewan. After serving at the church for eighteen years he returned to Romania due to illness.

While he was here he built this stone house.

Sunflowers make everything cheery.

A rock with zebra stripes.

The view northward from the house.  The roof of the church can be seen above the tree tops.

A broader view northwards.

For more information about the church, see the two previous posts: "Saints Peter & Paul Romanian Orthodox Church and Cemetery" and "Photos of Ghosts."

  1. Nice stonework - pity it's going to waste. There aren't many good stone masons anymore.

  2. He did beautiful work with the field stones. And I like that shot of the sunflower through the stone house window! Nice.
