Various thoughts and travels
My wife and I are "hill people," but she lived in Illinois for a few years and said it was like living on the moon, except it STUNK (factories). I remember traveling a little on the eastern edge of the plains when I was a kid, and found it different, thus interesting, but I was glad to get home, even then.
What is it?
It is the field where they grow licorice candy canes.
The crop has been "knocked down" in rows. It will be processed when it dries out.
A real harvest scene!
