This is about a mile or two outside Huxley, Alberta June 22, 2017. I got a bit of a chuckle about someone posting a historical marker to remember a Post Office that only existed for four years. Having a Post Office was important though. Mail is a Federal matter and having a post office meant your place was now on the map, your corner of the world meant something because you received Federal recognition. These institutions were very important at one time.
They still are important in a lot of little places.
