This was all on one day. When I visit Jasper it is kind of rare not to see wildlife. A few times I have seen them walk right into town. All of this is just barely outside the town of Jasper.
The first time I was ever in Jasper (20 years ago), the elk were all over that town. In the streets, sleeping overnight in people's yards, they owned that place. Then the government did a massive cull or something and they've been under control ever since, safely outside the townsite.
I have seen the same thing happen. If you drive through the streets you will see lots of high fences to keep wildlife from getting into stuff in people's yards.
