This is south and east of Pincher Creek, Alberta in a rural area. The church is no longer used on a regular basis. I believe it is over one hundred years old. It is well maintained and there are services held there. A couple of miles from here is Fishburn School which was a one room schoolhouse.
The church is locked. A peek inside the windows show that it is in perfect condition and ready to hold a service. It is unfortunate I could not get a photo of the interior. It is classic plain country church.
Through this window you can get a glimpse of the altar.
Another quiet prairie spot.
That is a pretty place, the church, the cemetery, the lone tree...serene. Well cared for...I like it.
ReplyDeleteI was the student minister there for the summer of 1979. There was a small manse on the property then where the summer minister lived. No running water and an outhouse. very quaint.
