Lonely markers

Some dedicated group went around and put up school markers in Alberta. I have no idea who was responsible or how much of the province they covered. If you keep a lookout you can spot them. There are some schools that are still standing that are unmarked. Then you will run across ones like these in the middle of nowhere marking where a school once stood. It is kind of odd to run across these driving down a road and seeing them in a field. I ran across these on April 12, 2015 while looking for an old rail line.

Apparently there was a school that operated until 1943. No records exist. The building was sold and moved.

This school operated from 1917 until 1949. The building was sold and moved.

This one is just outside Mossleigh, Alberta in another field.
