McDougall Memorial United Church, near Morley, Alberta

Stopped here September 14, 2014. The church is a historic site built in 1875. If nothing else I have to admire the original builder’s dedication to his cause to build a church in the middle of nowhere. At the time there were no towns or roads here. A lot of the missionaries of all religions were explorers in their own right and often were teachers and record keepers as well providing services where none existed. The site is as original as possible. Note the Union Jack in one of the photos.

  1. Love old buildings! Of course I just had to look for more info on the structure and found this: http://www.historicplaces.ca/en/rep-reg/place-lieu.aspx?id=8788
