Blink and you might miss it

Most points of interest and historical markers are not very interesting. If someone is going to put of a marker of  some kind you would think it would be big enough grab your attention. I barely noticed this when driving by and had to stop my car and walk up to it because you could not tell what it was from the road. This one is kind of important and I wish it had more information on it. Before they were the Royal Canadian Mounted Police they were the North West Mounted Police. The Mounted help settle a lot of Canada and because of them Canada was never a lawless place like places in the American wild west. This is not a criticism, it is noting that we had different histories.

Near Val Marie, Saskatchewan on Highway 18 on November 11, 2016.

  1. I wonder if we would have turned out differently if there had been an American Mounted Police.
