My thanks for your countrymen for their service. We south of you just had our Veterans' Day, which is meant to honor the living veterans. We have Memorial Day to honor the dead. I've always thought Remembrance Day the best choice of day for honoring the fallen of the UK/Commonwealth nations, as they lost almost an entire generation of young men in the war that ended 11/11/18. God bless them all, and this veteran of unimportant, mostly peacetime, service salutes their memory. --Tennessee Budd
Just to be clear I never served in any capacity and there is no military tradition in my family. I do firmly believe in respecting the day and those who did and do serve.
