I never did find Hackett. It was a place on an abandoned rail line south of Botha, Alberta on Highway 593. I believe I drove by it without knowing it. If there was anything there I missed it. There was no sign saying where it was nor did I see the remains of the rail line. I did see an abandoned farm along Highway 593. The place looked pretty dreary.
These old, abandoned farmsteads look dreary now, but I imagine what they must have been like when occupied. A garden, maybe a cow and chickens, children playing in the yard, curtains at the windows. When they were alive.
