One of the perks of having a blog is getting to correspond with people. B. (Barney) Ward of ofmadventures.blogspot.com and I have emailed a few times. He sent me what life looks like in his part Texas at the moment.
Texas is one of those places that I would like to visit and I am aware that Texas is an awfully big place.
I was informed that this one is an equipment barn on a not being worked ranch just north of Del Rio, Texas two miles inside the USA from Mexico on Highway 90. Typically they are used as an equipment/ truck/goats or sheep housing. There is no snow down this way and it seldom freezes longer than once for three to four hours every fifth or sixth year.
Everyone has a favorite part of Texas. I like the Granbury area, south of Ft. Worth on the Brazos. I think that if I moved to Texas that it would be high on my list. Close enough to Ft. Worth, but far enough away.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great state, a big state, and there is a lot there.
Oh, so nice and green! I miss green.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at your blog for several months now and it reminds me of the times I travelled through the country that you are now. In some cases it is sad to see the destruction of towns where I stopped for a meal or over night or we went for a vacation. But time passes and I realize that I went in the late 50's and 60's. So much has changed and yet the land remains the same. I am going to see if I can get away in the summer and visit. Ted High.
ReplyDeleteAh - that green. It's but a distant memory here still. Can't imagine having no frost and then only for a few hours.
