I imagine a lot of the students had to walk miles to get to school, no matter the weather. That's if they weren't needed on the farm. School attendance was spotty at best.
My grandmother Gertrude (McCready) Gibson taught here as her first assignment fresh out of Camrose Normal School in 1921. A single young woman, first job in a German speaking community (which she was not). Must have been a bold adventure. My compliments and thanks to the photographer.
