Compeer Hotel

A rainy day in Compeer, Alberta.

This was the Compeer Hotel.  At one time you could get a room and a meal here.

Look at all the names carved into the siding.

A few pieces have been sawn out...most likely for souvenirs.

A small part of prairie history.

  1. The last shot reminds me of the old saying that my great aunt used to quote. "Fool's names, like fool's faces, are often seen in public places."

  2. Looks like it was a real local tradition to carve your name on the old hotel.

  3. I love the names - almost like a history of the area I suppose.
