This is the
Nlak'pamux Church in the small community of Spences Bridge, British Columbia. It was built around 1905 as an Anglican church.
It really caught my eye with its wood shingle siding. I just took a quick photo from the shoulder of the highway as I was a long way from Kamloops and the light was failing. Given the state of its roof and the slightly ajar front door, it doesn't look like it is in use any more.
The Nlak'pamux language can be seen in the area, such as this STOP sign near Cisco / Siska.

Love the bilingual sign!
ReplyDeleteNeat church! We saw the languages exhibit at the Royal BC Museum and they has examples and pronunciations from various First Nations languages of BC, it was very interesting!
