In the Corn Field

Late fall . . . this bison was just a few hundred feet away from a country road near Portal, North Dakota.

The "dark spots" visible through the corn are the rest of the herd.

(Photos taken from inside the car...that's close enough for me.)

    1. They were fenced in but only with the typical three-strand barbed wire fencing used for cattle. The bison could easily just walk through it or clamber over it...hence me staying in the car to take photos. Never mess with bison!

  2. Wow - I'd be staying in the car too, with my foot on the gas!

  5. Smart of you to not mess with the bison. They can move faster than you think.
