Above is the view up Willow Creek Road. The school is on the right side of the road where it disappears at the base of the hill.
This abandoned one-room school is in north-central Montana. A very isolated location only six miles south of the Sweet Grass Hills. That's West Butte in the background rising over sixty-nine hundred feet above sea level.
The school windows face southwards opposite the hills. The kids had to wait for recess to take in the view.
The hills are known as island ranges on the great plains.
The hill with the pointed top is Gold Butte. Whenever I'm near the Sweet Grass Hills I always feel like I'm in good company . . . a very spiritual place.

What a great location! I would've stared out the window no matter what lol.

DeleteThis is a fairly isolated area, but not as frighteningly isolated as Goldstone, Montana (where I've also found a few historical treasures).
