Rural traffic jam

I took a drive down a rural road west of Brooks, Alberta last Sunday and came up against a cattle drive heading right at me. There are few options available when about a lot of future steak, ribs, roast, and hamburger is coming your way. The one I chose was to pull over, shut the car off, and wait for them to meander by me. Sometimes life forces you to wait.

  1. That brings back fond memories - Just picked up my brand new pick-up that morning and were headed to KC, MO to see my great-aunt. We were in the middle of the Flint Hills and up ahead were cowboys moving a herd of pregnant cows from one pasture to another. We laughed about my truck being initiated to life in Kansas.
