Old truck collective

Going through my photos and rediscovered a number of old trucks. The older stuff had more character.

  1. They all weighed a ton in those days too.

  2. #5 needs to be dropped onto late model dually chassis and turned into a kick ass row rig. I would suggest 5.9 Cummins 12valve power. 5 speed manual, and Air ride since we're building with someone else's money.

  4. Recently I sat at a stop light next to a late model Volkswagon and a late model Mercedes Benz. The flow of traffic allowed me to view the cars from differing angles. Aside from the maker's badge, I could not tell one from the other.

In times past, it was easy to distinguish not only the make but also the model one from another. Going further into the past, one need only hear the engine to be able to tell which from which. Of course, the body styles and cabin interiors were dead give aways.

As time marches forward, probably there will come a time when we're all driving Johnny cabs. People will get excited because they could pick their own paint scheme.
