Will the elite progressive Canadian rulers turn out the army to crush people like that? It's threatened. And how will the army react? They better start building prison camps now if they plan to incarcerate all of the truckers, farmers and - essentially the middle class.
Well, at least this protest is a quiet one, not like the truckers! They want their freedom to choose but what about the people who are on the other side of the coin and are having their freedom infringed upon. There's no right answer.
The "other side" had 2 solid years of impacting these peoples lives and ability to make a living. Don't like the FREE Canadians response? Good. America stands with your Truckers.
I was at a friend's house for coffee yesterday and her son is a long-time long-haul trucker. She conveyed his feelings about the whole thing as never being so embarrassed to tell people he was a truck driver.
Something else that came to mind while we were talking...I wonder how this would be playing out if the protesters involved had skin of a different colour?
Freedom in the western world is a state of mind, n'est-ce pas?!
Freedom here is different than other places. That is agreed.
To clarify, I support the right to protest. I am not in favour of blockades or destruction of property.
Other groups have protested for different causes in the past and present by blocking rail lines, destruction of property, occupying land, and they have been a variety colours. This is not a political blog nor do I intend it to be. The post was just meant to be an observation. If I wanted to make a political point I would have attended protests and posted photos.

ReplyDeleteLikely not. The Prime Minister does not have the legal means to call in the military to clear Ottawa.
