Former school that became a granary then left as an empty building. This is north of Oyen, Alberta just a mile off the highway. You cannot see it from the highway. The road to it is dirt. Cattle were a minor rural hazard.
The old saw about, "If buildings could talk." I truly would sit and listen to an old building tell me it's tales and goings on it encountered over the years. Like old people, they have an interesting story to tell.
The one room schools still exist in New Brigden just up the road from here (a potential closure was averted in Sept this year). K-5 means all the 14 kids in school are in the same room with one teacher. The walls are still talking.
I remember that school, if its wet its impossible to get to the school well worth the visit though
