One problem solved

I was not all that happy with my job and I was having some issues with the workplace.

So I quit.

I have another job to go to. I start at the end of the month. I answered an ad a week ago on a Monday and got a call for an interview that same day. I had two separate interviews on two separate days at seven in the morning and was offered the job. A little bit better pay, a little bit better benefits, and hopefully less aggravation. I handed in my notice on Monday of this week.

This change is just another job. I live conservatively, I do not spend a lot, and with saving and investing I hoping that I will have enough put aside that I can do something else. Or maybe do nothing at all.

    1. I work in a job that does not pay great but there is usually a demand for it.

  4. Good for you! It takes guts to quit a job these days. So glad you got another one quickly and that it sounds like it will be a better fit. Fingers crossed!!!

  5. You need to earn enough so that you can die someplace warm, not having to toil to make ends meet.

  6. I hope you will be happier in your new job. I can certainly recommend retirement, if you're able to swing that soon. It's great to be able to kiss the work force goodbye!

  8. I applaud you.

I had lunch a couple of days ago who was roasting over a slow fire because he could not quit.

The company's business model is to have 10% turn-over a year. If they don't have enough turn-over then the managers are not squeezing hard enough. So they give the vice another spin of the handle.

Things are very different now than they were in the 1970s.

I applaud that you took action and did not let it eat you up and make you bitter.

  9. Good that you were able to change jobs relatively effortlessly. Jobs don't have to be awesome but they have to be at least tolerable.
