Kopernick

Parish hall and church that are no longer in regular use. You rarely see a parish hall these days. This is in a very rural area south of Bruce, Alberta that I saw on December 3, 2017. Both are quite large buildings. The church is beautiful. I wish I could have seen this on a day that was not overcast as it would have made for better photos. The hall is no longer in use and I believe the church is used on an irregular basis.

A very good post on this place can be found at:

Jenn also recently posted this spot and has photos of this in the summer. Find her at:

  1. Was the church Russian Orthodox by any chance?

    1. Formal name is Ascension of Jesus Christ Ukrainian Catholic Church, Kopernick Parish. So it is Ukrainian Catholic.

    1. Stood on a box and looked in the windows of the hall. It was pretty much empty, with a stage of sort at one end and a kitchen in behind that.

  4. Thanks for the shout out! Always appreciated. Seems like Kopernick is a popular subject the last few weeks - all kinds of photos showing it have been popping up on mu feed lately. It is a wonderful subject though, which surely explains it. Keep up the good work.
