Cactus Lake, Lisa, resides in the so-called "Banana Belt' of stubble-jumping Saskatchewan!
It's called the banana belt by the locals because it tends to be fairly arid and in high summer it resembles a desert in some places. If the soil was any damn good it gets so warm you could grow bananas in the summer. The cacti are small, vicious little things that defy common sense - I wouldn't have thunk that cacti can handle the Canadian winters - but these little devils do with aplomb.
There is an odd beauty to that neck of the woods but I am glad I no longer work out that way...
I like the new header...the lake is hiding...are you sure that isn't Hidden Lake at The Mill?
