Ranching country

Along Highway 520 west from Claresholm, Alberta to Highway 22. Nice gravel highway that takes you into the foothills.

  2. I wonder how much of the year they can feed the cattle by grazing that far north?

    1. Head them out in the spring, round them up in the fall.

    2. Here in southeastern Alberta (and depending on many variables), community pastures usually run from mid-June to early-October.

  3. Those signs were obviously put up by the local farmers - part of the charm of the prairies.
