This had been on my list for some time. I finally got here on June 20, 2022. It was a long way to travel just to see an abandoned grain elevator in a town that is basically a ghost town. Then again, I was not doing anything else that weekend.
There is a rail line that runs beside that is still in use. I did not bother to try to look inside, the place does not look that safe. It has been abandoned for decades.
Always worth the trip. There's no guarantee it will be there tomorrow. But, you could just poke your head inside and look around! I'd bet there's owls and plenty of bats.
ReplyDeleteIt does look a wee bit on the wobbly side so perhaps better to be safe than sorry.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks pretty rickety.
ReplyDeleteYou should have looked inside. It's about the destination.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. It's absolutely amazing to see places like this and think about the pride and sense of accomplishment that had to be in the hearts and minds of the people who created these wonders in the wilderness back in the day.
