Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary 1942

Southeast of Leross, Saskatchewan. When I turned off the highway onto a gravel road I was not sure I was on the right road. This is on a road that looks like it does not get a lot of traffic. When you get to the church most of it is hidden from view by trees. When I found a photo of it on the internet it was referred to as Moleski Church. The actual name is in the title of this post. No clue as to how long it has been abandoned and I was not able to look inside. The cemetery is up a little hill from the church and there are a few relatively recent headstones there.

  1. This one just looks so sad. Looks as though someone tries to maintain the cemetery though.

  2. Do you get ticks from walking in the long grass? We did in Minnesota.

  3. Another grand old church. Quite unique. Looks to be structurally sound. Definitely on my list to visit.

  4. That's a pretty cool looking old church. Good find. I don't think that I've seen that one before.

  6. Those are very unusually-shaped cupolas...charming in their own way.

Skirted around Leross on my last trip to the area. Hope to catch it next time.
