Whitkow, Saskatchewan is practically a ghost town. There are a few people that live here. A rail line once ran through here. The elevator and the church are basically what is left of the old buildings. There was another church here that was ceremonially burnt down by the congregation in 2013 as they could not afford to repair the dome and restore the church.
Wow! Now that's a cool church.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a ceremonial burning of an old church. It seems like they are sold to be renovated for other uses or torn down here (Iowa).
ReplyDeleteA ceremonial burning of a church? Wonder what the purpose would have been for that.
