Took a quick drive yesterday down a rural road and seven moose crossed the road. As soon as I saw them starting to cross I put the car in park and waited. Wildlife can be unpredictable. I reached for my camera and only managed to get two of them. I am always surprised something that big can move that fast.
Once back in the Coast Guard I went flying up to Isle Royale NP in the winter. On the way there were a couple of wolves crossing upper lake Michigan on the ice, they sure could run...
ReplyDeleteI've long known that moose are nicknamed the "Freight train Ghost", as they are huge , and yet, can disappear in a flash!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right.
DeleteI always find it surprising that something so big is hard to spot. You would think you would see them more often because there are a lot of moose in this area. Moose are very big, you certainly do not want to hit one with a vehicle.
Moose are scary.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see a moose in the wild - I suppose that could be a good thing because you certainly wouldn't want to hit one with a car.
