This former school building is just west of Newton, Manitoba. The Curtis West school was closed in 1969 and used as a community building. Now it appears to be empty. It has a small plaque commemorating the school.
I remember when they closed all the one-room country schools in our part of south-western Manitoba in 1968/1969 and started bussing all the "country kids" to our town school. It was quite an influx.
Interesting looking school and to be open until 1969 is pretty neat too!
