Time to get Rowley!

Rowley, Alberta September 30, 2017. Once five hundred people lived here. Now only eight live here year round. The railway that used to run through here was torn up after the last train passed through in 1999.

Legend has it that years ago some locals were running out of alcohol and broke into the old saloon. They fixed up the old bar and the idea came about to fix up more of the town. Thus "Pizza Night" was born. On the last Saturday of every month the bar opens up and volunteers make pizza. Drinks and pizzas are sold to raise funds to restore the town.

I attended Pizza Night and met up with the authors of:

and

and met some non-bloggers. I bought two pizzas and three jugs of beer. I had a good time, the food was good and they had two different draught beers on tap. My brother-in-law and my eighteen year old nephew were there as well. My nephew managed to chat up three lovely young blonde women and they posed for several pictures with him. They made his night. He will go far. It was kind of hard to get a decent crowd shot. There must have been about three hundred people there and a damn good live band. You can have a lot of fun in unexpected places. I will have to do this again and I am down with the cause.

  4. Sounds like fun! I read Jenn's post too and she said your nephew was "the life of the party." Now I see what she means.
