We have the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime for any reason

So says the sign at the bar at the J-Bar-T Roadhouse in Spruce View, Alberta on March 10, 2016. This place is about an hour and a half from where I live. It is on Highway 54 east of Innisfail, Alberta. There is not a lot in Spruce View.

A lady friend of mine has a motorcycle and we meet up for the occasional ride. She is fun to hang out with and up for an adventure. She contacted me and suggested we go here. We had been by here a couple of times on motorcycles with the intention of stopping in sometime in the future. She recently bought a used pickup. How can you say no to a woman offering to pick you up and take you to a biker bar in rural Alberta in her truck? I can't.

Menu. The food is very good. To be honest I was not expecting much in terms of food. I ordered a burger and the patty was homemade. I would like to know where they got their bacon from because it was great. I regret not ordering the steak so I will have to go back.

There are lots of photos of bikers on the walls. Apparently this is a popular spot in the summer.

I was surprised there is no draught beer. If you are ever in the area drop in. I recommend it and I will be back.

East of Buffalo, Alberta March 12, 2016

I was out with my friend Ron and he spotted this out on the lone prairie. I was surprised he spotted this since it was hidden behind a hill. He thinks this may not have been a year round residence but a place used for people out in the field. Ranches tend to cover a lot of land in this area. Ron grew up not too far north of here and at one time he knew a lot of the farmers in this area. The building is very small. Three old metal bed frames were inside. If there were more than two people it would really be cramped. If there was anything to cook on it was no longer there. It definitely is not being used.

I kind of wonder if "West View" means anything in particular.

Friday open road

C.W. over at dailytimewaster.blogspot.ca does this as a recurring feature at his blog. I always look forward to his Friday posts. I am not trying to steal his idea, just seeing if I can put a little bit of an Alberta spin on it. He does a far better job at this particular theme.

Nothing of interest inside. Very small house.
