Largest barn in Canada

Southwest of Foremost, Alberta is what at one time was the largest barn in Canada. It likely is the largest barn in Western Canada. It was built by John Heninger, has three floors, over 16,000 square feet, and once housed about 4,000 sheep. Today I am not sure if it gets much use. A sign in the property says Douglas Ranch.

  1. That's an amazing structure!! Too bad it couldn't be turned into something...I think it would be a pretty cool house.

  2. I would think 4000 sheep would generate a lot of heat. I wonder what it would take to get a beef operation running. Mutton is fairly scarce and finding a butcher for sheep is a difficult process.
