Located in Kaleden, British Columbia, the hotel is a heritage-listed property, built in 1912 and closed due to the first world war a few years later. The building sat until the late 1930s when it was sold and stripped its materials and furnishings.
Kind of hard to get photos when I was there due to traffic and the cramped surroundings. A unique spot.
Must have been nice in its day! And now we know where your previous post's photo is from.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure this isn't a government project that has been delayed slightly since 1912 due to zoning requirements, building permit delays and cost overruns?
ReplyDeleteA unique spot indeed. A bit more on the area and hotel with some historical interesting stuff in town and around (including the See Ya Later Ranch) is here:

Impressive sight. One wonders whatever became of the windows and why they were removed and the rest of it was left to stand.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to see it turn into a park with gardens. The walls of the old hotel could be the "Hanging Gardens of Kaleden."
