Dorothy, Alberta revisited March 26, 2017

I have taken photos of the grain elevator before. Sometimes I like to revisit places to see if I can get a different perspective on things. These were taken at the top of the valley.

Fence line at the top of the hill.

Red Deer River down below.

A highway runs in front of the elevator. Off to the left of the elevator north of the highway is what remains of the town. There are two churches, a couple of buildings, and a couple of residents. A railway used to run through here and there used to be a lot more here. A farm is in the foreground.

A storm ripped the roof off of the elevator a few years ago. Grain elevators are very solidly built so it will be standing for a few years yet. I have read a few rumours about plans to restore it.

    1. To be honest all I really did was take photos from the top of a hill.
