One year.
One year since the accident.
This anniversary is a little depressing in that I have a ways to go to recover. However I remind myself to get my head out of my ass and be grateful I am alive.
I have been doing some work on the stationary bike and that is going better. The only drawback is that I am suffering pain later in my knees and left hip. Getting everything to loosen up has taken some work. Every bit of progression involves pain. It is what it is.
I can bend my knees at a ninety degree angle and I might not get much more range than that. My goal is to see if I can get on the motorcycle this May. It likely will not happen but never say die.
Thank you all for the comments during the prior months.
All you can do is keep on keeping on and deal with life one day at a time. Your progression thus far has been great (although I know you want it to be more and faster). Keep your head right where it is and we'll be here cheering you on.
ReplyDeleteKeep at it. A little bit at at time all the time helps the nerves, the tendons, muscles, bones and everything else start working together. Being able to ride the stationary bike is a big step forward.

How about the car, BW? Can you drive yourself around yet?
ReplyDeleteGod speed and strength
ReplyDeleteA year...what a long slog to get where you are in recovery. With your injuries & repair surgeries, you've done well. Easy for me to say, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI hope your goal of being back on the motorcycle in May works out, even if a slow ride around the block. Good to have a goal to work toward on those days when it seems like your healing is stalled.
A tough anniversary but you're right -- the important thing is that you're still here and kicking! We're all glad for that!
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration! You have come so far in this year; we’re all cheering you on!
ReplyDeleteThe motorcycle is a pretty high bar with the need to use your legs when stopping and parking but lofty goals achieve lofty results over time!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a year and not only did you not die, you're walking!
