Ghost town Saskatchewan

Dunkirk is a ghost town located south of Moose Jaw. The hamlet was the fourth waypoint on the mini-alphabet CPR rail line (Archives, Buttress, Crestwind) between Moose Jaw and Assiniboia.  The post office operated from 1913 to 1968. In its prime Dunkirk contained a number of businesses including two grain elevators and a school.  The slow demise of Dunkirk like many towns and hamlets on the prairies began during the depression.

  1. So clearly the town wasn't named for the WW2 battle.

  2. The post office is break out the tool belt worthy.

  3. So sad to see an entire town abandoned.
