This is an abandoned rail bridge at Drumheller, Alberta beside Highway 575 crossing the Red Deer River. I was trying out this photography thing once again.
There are concrete blocks on the bridge to prevent people from crossing it.
You had me at bridge. The blocks were originally placed to add weight to the structure and stabilize it in anticipation of the Red River flooding in 2013. Of course, they also keep people off the structure.
I never thought of the blocks being there to add weight. With the "No Trespassing" signs I thought they were primarily there to keep people off the bridge. I have seen vehicles just drive over old bridges once the tracks were removed. Thanks for the info.
I kind of "borrowed" the bridge hunting term from you. It is a great term for stuff like this.
Great lines and reflections.
ReplyDeleteGood photos! Looks like and erector set, BW!
