Posted a field of these that I ran across in southern Alberta. I spotted this south of Holden, Alberta. It once was common to see bales stacked this way when they came off the baler. It is kind of a rare sight.
My dad never stacked his bales like this because he preferred to bale directly onto the wagon and get it in the barn as quickly as possible. Not fun trying to stack them onto the wagon so they didn't fall off, all while trying to keep up with the baler.
I've lived in farming country all of my life and I have never seen bales stacked like this.
