One of the biggest mistakes I made in life was going to the mechanical Staedtler drafting pencils. They don't freeze in the winter, they don't blow up in your shirt pocket in summer... but they have no charm either. I may have to procure a precision writing instrument one of these days...
No fountain pen. I have used them in the past. I have used the same pencils and I agree with you. I am bad with pens. I use any one of twenty different pens at my desk. I like to write with a very fine point. I used to have decent handwriting. I need to practice more.
Good story, BW! Thanks for sharing your journal with us. I like the photos too! I use old straight pens with a fine nib and India ink; not practical on a trip though.
Is that a fountain pen you're using, BW?
