When we converted to covered round bale from hand bale we could go 4 high stacking on the fence row when the hay spike was on the tall JD tractor. First cutting would line the fence row both sides. This would kill off the weeds. The second would go on top and so on. When we sold they would get first through whatever. We sold that way until first cut was gone. Mid summer hay was always best.
